Robert Fuller founded the Portsmouth Area Arts Council in 1970. Our mission statement is "...to integrate the arts into the lives of young people and their families in the Greater Portsmouth area."

Our main goal is to offer the arts to our area school districts and families through performances, workshops and related activities. This is made possible through the funds raised by an annual donation drive, grants from the Ohio Arts Council, Scioto County Area Foundation, City of Portsmouth Cultural Panel, local corporate donations, and program sponsorship.

We also schedule and facilitate ARTSLINK meetings, a meeting of artists, civic leaders, teachers, and community members interested in the arts who come together to share ideas, tell of their upcoming events, brainstorm and come together as one united group offering many varieties of the arts to the Portsmouth and surrounding communities.
