IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PAAC PERFORMANCES
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHOOL GROUPS
HOW TO MAKE RESERVATIONS:
To make reservations please fill out the Reservation Form and mail or fax to PAAC (740) 351-3414. Make sure to select a show title, time, and give the total number of students, adults, and any special needs students. Payment by check or money order must arrive within on week of order or seats will not be reserved. Confirmation of your reservation will be sent via e-mail, mail or phone at least 2 weeks prior to the performance. Please specify how you prefer to be contacted. No tickets will be issued.
Confirmation of reservations will arrive either via e-mail or mail (whichever is indicated on your form), two to three weeks before the performance. No tickets will be issued.
TEACHER SURVEYS:
Our future planning and grant funding is dependant on your feedback – so please take the time to fill out the Performance Survey and return it to a PAAC usher, or mail it to: PAAC, P.O. Box 1258, Portsmouth, OH 45662.
STUDY GUIDES:
To access a study guide for each individual performance title – click on “schedule” from the menu to the left and then look for the “study guide” link after the description of each show. Study guides are usually made available at least one month prior to each performance date.
SEATING:
Audience is seated as youngest or special needs students to older students. Late arrivals will be seated as space permits. Please wait for usher to seat you.
HEARING & VISION-IMPARED STUDENTS:
Hearing impaired and vision impaired students can be seated near the stage for the performance if indicated on reservation form. If signing is necessary for hearing-impaired students, the PAAC office must be notified 4 weeks prior to the performance.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE SEATING:
Please indicate the number of wheelchair accessible seats you will need on the order form. Seating is limited.
HOME SCHOOL & GENERAL PUBLIC:
Performances at 12:00 p.m. are designated for home school students and the general public. A public parking lot is available one block north of the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts (VRCFA) on US 23 (Gay Street). Enter by turning left on 4th Street - then right into lot.
PHONE RESERVATIONS:
Phone reservations MUST be followed by reservation form(s) with either payment or purchase order no later than two weeks prior to the performance.
LOCATION OF THE THEATER:
The Vern Riffe Center for the Arts (VRCFA) is a state-of-the-art theater which seats 1,135 and is located on the campus of Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio. From the North, travel south into Portsmouth via Hwy 23 (Chillicothe Street) to Third Street, turn left (East) - the VRCFA is on the right. When traveling from the South, take Hwy 23 across the US Grant Bridge and turn right at the light – Vern Riffe Center for Arts is one block down on the right.
